Terms of Service - MatchMyCouch

1. Scope

These Terms of Service govern the use of MatchMyCouch, operated by Dominik Riedl, Rehbühlstraße 5, 92637 Weiden, Germany. By using MatchMyCouch, you agree to these terms.

2. Service Description

MatchMyCouch is a web-based application that allows users to discover movies and TV shows by swiping through recommendations. A free tier with basic functionality and a paid Premium tier with additional features are offered.

3. Registration and Account

Registration requires a valid email address and a username. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. You must be at least 16 years old to register. One account per person is permitted.

4. Premium Subscription

The Premium subscription costs €2.99 per month and is billed monthly. Payment is processed via Stripe. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period. In accordance with §19 UStG, no VAT is charged. By completing the checkout, you confirm that you are purchasing a digital service and that delivery begins immediately upon payment.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time via your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods. Access to Premium features remains active until the end of the paid period.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse MatchMyCouch. Prohibited activities include attempting to circumvent access controls, scraping or automated access to the service, sharing your account credentials with others, and any use that violates applicable law.

7. Limitation of Liability

MatchMyCouch is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service. Liability for indirect or consequential damages is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Movie data is provided by TMDB and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by German law. The place of jurisdiction is Weiden in der Oberpfalz, Germany, to the extent permitted by law.
